House-
Who is ‘Anywhere Person’?
My name is Charlie, and I am a professional freelance literary translator and proofreader (see my website here). The location-independent nature of my work means that I am free to travel, as long as I have an internet connection. In 2018, I decided to take the plunge and house-sit full time. It provides me with the freedom to travel and explore new places while getting to hang out with a variety of lovely animals, which makes me very happy.
As Anywhere Person, I offer housesitting and petsitting services charged at a nightly rate (per 24-hour period), and this could be anywhere in the UK, Europe, or further afield. I also offer local dog walks and cat visits (this is usually in the Wiltshire area only, unless I happen to be in the right place at the right time!)
Being a total animal-lover, I have in-depth experience of looking after cats, dogs and other small pets including fish, rabbits, chickens, hamsters, guinea pigs and tortoises. My current nomadic lifestyle means I cannot have pets of my own, so your animals will be showered with love. But don’t worry, I’m experienced with handling different dogs, and will always aim to keep them in their routine!
As a freelance translator, I spend a lot of time reading books and translating at ‘home’, so I am great company for your pets – they will not be left alone for long periods of time. I like nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with a cat (or dog if they’re allowed up) and a good book. I also like to potter around the place, tidying and cleaning (it makes a nice break from the words), so you’ll find your house will be pretty spotless when you get back. I enjoy a spot of light gardening, am happy to water your veg patch, and I manage to keep most house plants alive and blooming. I am also confident at cleaning and maintaining a swimming pool.

Why hire me as your housesitter?
Your home will be lived in, protecting it against burglary while you are away.
Your pet will be happier keeping its routine and staying at home, with lots of love and care.
You won’t have to pay expensive kennel or cattery fees.
Your houseplants will be kept alive and your garden watered and kept tidy.
Your house will be so clean and tidy on your return, you’ll hardly know I was here.
Every animal and every home is different. I am respectful of that, and make sure to run your house the way you like it, and treat your pets the way you would!
